Pampered Chef urges early cancer detection

The Pampered Chef is collaborating during May with the American Cancer Society to help increase awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer and to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer.

This marks the seventh year of the Help Whip Cancer campaign.

Pampered Chef customers have the opportunity to contribute to the American Cancer Society by hosting May cooking shows or purchasing specially designed products during the month of May.

The American Cancer Society estimates that about 41,000 women will die of breast cancer in 2006. The good news, though, is that death rates from breast cancer declined by an average of 2.3 percent per year from 1990 to 2002. These decreases are due to early detection and better treatment options.
