You Can Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth And Still Lose Weight
If you're dieting, sweets are a big no-no. But what if you could lose weight with the lick of a lollipop?
Tuesday, August 1, 2006 - It sounds too good to be true. Suck on a lollipop and lose weight. But that's the claim behind Power-Pops! The lollipop's key ingredient is Hoodia, an herbal supplement originally used by tribes in Africa to suppress hunger.
Michael Wenninger is the Power-Pop inventor: "It breaks down fat cells and toxins. You're gonna see weight loss just drop right off."
And Wenninger say that's not all. They also give you energy.
Hoodia is sold in all sorts of diet products, from pills to powders. And like other dietary supplements it doesn't need FDA approval. The makers of the Power-Pop say what makes their product so unique is in the way you take it.
Wenninger: "When you look at how Hoodia is taken by the South Africans, they don't dry it out and grind it up and make pills, tablets and capsules out of it. How they take the Hoodia, in order for it to work, is they suck on it."
The makers say, to help lick away the fat, have one pop with a glass of water a half hour before each meal.
