PartyLite Celebrating Earth Hour 2015

March 4, 2015 -- Lights off! Candles on! That's the idea behind Earth Hour, which happens around the world from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time Saturday, March 28.

Over the last eight years, Earth Hour has grown from a symbolic "lights out" event in Australia to an annual global event celebrated in 7,000 cities in 163 countries. It encourages individuals, businesses and communities to turn off their lights for 60 minutes to show support for actions that will help stop climate change.

"Last year, we reached more than 5 million people with the Earth Hour message," says Rob Goergen, Jr., President of PartyLite Worldwide. "It's such a wonderful idea. People around the globe turn off their lights for one hour using their power to demonstrate the need for change. We're happy to provide the candlelight. It's a fantastic way to express our commitment to the planet."

As the world's largest party plan candle company, PartyLite, whose products are available in the United States, Canada and 21 other countries, will also show its support of Earth Hour 2015 by donating one dollar to the World Wildlife Fund for every Brighter World™ by PartyLite Jar Candle sold March 27-29. Purchase of ingredients used in these premium soy blend candles benefits the local communities where they are grown and supports sustainable agricultural practices and regional conservation efforts.

PartyLite is encouraging everyone to participate and asks candle lovers to post photos of their Earth Hour candles, along with the hashtags, #EarthHour and #PartyLite on Twitter, Instagram and the PartyLite Facebook page – www.facebook.com/partylite. PartyLite wants to know about everyone's Earth Hour experience, especially how many candles people light for Earth Hour. They'll create a photo album from the posted photos and total up the number of lit candles.
