USANA Q2 Profits Climb

SALT LAKE CITY - USANA Health Sciences Inc., which makes nutritional and personal care products, said Tuesday its second-quarter profit climbed 9 percent.

For the quarter ended June 30, net income rose to $11.3 million, or 66 cents per share, from $10.3 million, or 55 cents per share.

Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected earnings of 63 cents per share.

Revenue rose 18 percent to $109.4 million from $92.5 million in the second quarter of 2006. Analysts expected revenue of $104.2 million.
