USANA Shares Drop Following Resignation

NEW YORK - Shares of Usana Health Sciences Inc., which makes nutritional and personal care products, dropped Tuesday after the lawsuit-plagued company said its independent accountant has resigned.

Shares fell $5.12, or 10.2 percent, to $44.98 in afternoon trading.

The announcement of the resignation of Grant Thornton LLP as the company's auditor came as Usana said it expects to post a higher-than expected profit and better-than-expected sales in its second quarter.

The company plans to release its full financial results for the quarter after the market closes Tuesday.

But for investors, the positive news appeared to be overshadowed by the resignation, which brought more focus to the company's legal troubles.
